The delegation of Vietnam Hydrographic Office attends the EAHC’s 8th Steering Committee Meeting |

On December 10, 2021, at the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of National Defense, the delegation of Vietnam Hydrographic Office led by Rear Admiral Tran Ngoc Quyet, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Office of Vietnam Hydrographic Office and members of Ministries and sectors (Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport) attended the 8th Steering Committee Meeting of the East Asia Hydrographic Commission (EAHC). Attending the Online Meeting included members of EAHC (China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Brunei). SC8-EAHC Online Meeting Scenes The Online Meeting informed and discussed the following contents, including: (i) Notice on the results of the meeting of the Council of the International Hydrographic Organization; (ii) Announcement of EAHC's research, building and capacity development (TRDC) activities in 2021; (iii) Discussion of EAHC membership status; (iv) Analysis of the Strategic Plan of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO); (v) Notification of maritime safety communication issues; (vi) Discussion on amendments to the EAHC regulations; (vii) Announcement of the contents of the EAHC Strategic Roadmap Group. At the meeting, Rear Admiral Tran Ngoc Quyet gave a speech regarding Vietnam's EAHC membership status, which affirmed that Vietnam has been an active member of IHO since 2015 and fully meets the requirements of the IHO. According to the Regulations of the EAHC, Vietnam wants all countries to soon approve the membership status for Vietnam to become an official member. |
