Finalize the draft Strategy for the development of surveying and cartography industry

Participating were representatives of leaders of the Departments: Planning - Finance, Science and Technology, Office of the Ministry, Department of Information Technology and Data, Natural Resources and Environment, Institute of Geodesy and Mapping Science.

Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Lam, Director of the Department of Surveying, Cartography and Geographical Information of Vietnam said, implementing the plan to develop the Strategy for the development of Vietnam's surveying and cartography industry and building national geospatial data infrastructure to 2030, vision to 2040 (Strategy), on October 30, 2020, MONRE completed the draft and submitted it to the Government for approval.

On November 19, 2020, the Government Office sent an Official Letter to consult the Ministries of Science and Technology, Information and Communication, Planning and Investment, and Finance on commenting on the draft Strategy. . As of December 15, 2020, MONRE has received 4 comments from ministries.

Most of the comments focused on completing the basic contents of the Strategy, such as: integrating the Strategy for Development of the Natural Resources and Environment Sector and the Strategy for the Development of the Surveying and Cartography industry to ensure consistency. set, unify, avoid overlapping in the implementation process; consider and consider the time of promulgation of the Strategy in line with the Socio-Economic Development Strategy for the period of 2021-2030; consider and supplement content related to the socialization of activities in the field of cartography and construction of spatial data infrastructure to ensure efficient and economical use of state resources; supplementing content with predictive nature, orienting the development process of the surveying and cartography industry to approach standards and articulate with the International Data Portal and in the draft Strategy; consider reviewing and supplementing the vision of the Strategy…

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa requested the Vietnam Department of Surveying, Cartography and Geographical Information to coordinate with relevant units to review, adjust and supplement a number of contents of the project. draft the Strategy to suit the actual development situation of the country.

In which, it is necessary to update the Draft Strategy according to the viewpoints, goals, targets, guidelines and policies of the Party in the reports of the Document of the XIII Party Congress.
